Thank you for visiting my website
Having recently branched out on my own after many years of supporting large organisations, I am looking forward to helping others make their events and occasions a success.

PROFILE
Since I started working in Learning and Development nearly 20 years ago, I have had a passion for engaging others, whether in large or small groups.
Whatever the event or the occasion I believe the host, compère, MC or announcer plays a vital role in its success and how it’s remembered by others.
I have supported a large number of events whilst working in both the private and public sector, working with the NHS most recently since 2014. Examples of these events and occasions include:
- Award ceremonies
- Organisation wide staff events
- Conferences
- Public engagement events
- Team development events
- Sporting events
This variety of events has enabled me to hone and shape a range of delivery styles and approaches making me a versatile professional who can adapt to any situation. A lot of the work I do requires a very professional and formal approach for distinguished audiences, but this is balanced with opportunities for a more informal approach, using humour and having fun.

EVENT HOSTING ETHOS
I believe the secret to a successful and memorable event is to ensure that those attending or taking part feel involved and invested in the proceedings. By giving guests and attendees a feeling of ownership, even if only in a small way, they feel included and like the event has been planned with them in mind.
To ensure I deliver the highest quality for those I work with, I follow a core set of principles that apply for most events and occasions:
Appreciate the Specifics of the Event
Your event or occasion will be unique and I will invest time to ensure I understand your wants and needs.
Understand my Role
Whilst the main responsibilities for most events are very similar, I never assume and always seek to understand what is expected of me. I am comfortable taking direction from the organisers and/or making suggestions if required. I am experienced in the most common responsibilities, such as:
- Keeping the event flowing and bridging between different segments
- Keeping the guests/attendees engaged and interested and making sure they’re enjoying themselves
- Making sure guests/attendees feel respected and special during the event
- Making speakers/presenters feel welcome and valued
- Keeping things running to time
- Making sure everyone is informed on what’s happening and when
Doing my Research
This includes finding out if there are any special guests/attendees who should be recognised and making sure I know the names and details of all speakers/presenters and very important people.
Be Prepared
Generally being prepared for any occasion and providing help and support to others to ensure the event is a success. Whilst being prepared for anything might sound an impossible task, I haven’t had anything come up yet that I haven’t been able to resolve.
